The Global Resilience Council Hall of Fame recognises the highest achievers in the travel, hospitality, tourism and leisure sectors. Inductees to the Hall of Fame have not only achieved phenomenal business success but have also mentored, inspired and shaped those around them.
In addition to honouring individuals with a long track record of high achievement, the Resilience Council is looking to reward outstanding businesses alongside the Member induction ceremony. There is an option to nominate a business or organisation to enter the Hall of Fame, plus four additional awards: The Impact Award, Non-Profit & Association Award, Resilience Award and the Sustainable Business Award. The winners of these awards will be businesses that are able to demonstrate how their sustainability strategy leads within the industry, their overall impact on the industry or how they successfully overcame crises.
The Global Resilience Council Hall of Fame was created in 1995 as the Travel Industry Hall of Fame to recognise the achievements of outstanding individuals who had disrupted and shaped the market but were not recognised by existing awards programmes which focused on corporate rather than individual achievement.
In 2014 the Hall of Fame was acquired by one of its youngest inductees, Clive Jacobs, who added it to his growing Jacobs Media portfolio alongside Travel Weekly and extended its remit to cover the hospitality sector in association with another of its flagship titles, The Caterer.
The event has since evolved under the auspices of Jacobs Media’s Global Travel & Tourism Resilience Council, and has continued to honour individuals, businesses and organisations within the travel, hospitality and tourism sectors.
